The diplomatic enclave housing foreign missions in Chanakyapuri and other areas housing VIPs were inundated as the national capital on Sunday witnessed unprecedented rain, shattering a 41-year record.
Amid the continuous heavy rainfall in the region, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued orders for all officers to remain vigilant. The Punjab Police have taken extensive measures to tackle any potential flood-related emergencies, according to the Director General of Police (DGP)
"In view of the torrential rains lashing Delhi for the last 2 days and warnings from the Meteorological Department, all schools in Delhi are being closed for a day tomorrow," Kejriwal said in a tweet in Hindi on Sunday.
In view of incessant rains in the national capital, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and took updates.
The raids were conducted in Melkote Park, Vittalwadi in Narayanguda, and Near Noori Panshop, Lallaguda areas, and the arrested accused have been identified as Shaik Asif alias Ramzan, Arif Khan, Mohd.Abdul Rahman, Mujahid Ali Khan, Toufeeq Diwan, A Susheel Kumar and Hiwarle Sai Karthik.
As an intense spell of monsoon rain continued over the northwestern Himalayan region on Saturday and Sunday morning, numerous roads were blocked and several people were stuck due to landslides.
"Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places of Delhi," the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a tweet on Sunday morning.
According to a statement from the health ministry, the assault happened on Saturday in a residential area of Omdurman, the city next to the capital Khartoum. Unknown numbers of individuals were injured in the attack.
