A massive earthquake of magnitude 7.8 on the Richter scale hits 26 km E of Nurdagi in Turkey on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
Earthquakes in the Nenana Basin region of Interior Alaska last longer and feel much stronger than a quake of comparable magnitude would in a nonbasin region, due to the behavior of the seismic waves once they reach the area.
An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 on the Richter scale occurred 171km NE of Dushanbe in Tajikistan on Friday morning, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.
In an update on its website, the US Geological Survey said that the earthquake occurred 40 kilometers southeast of Singkil town in Indonesia. The earthquake was registered at 03:59:58 (local time) at the depth of 37 kilometers.
A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Northern California's Eureka area early Tuesday (local time), the US Geological Survey said, injuring at least two people, cutting off power, and damaging some buildings and a roadway, officials said, reported CNN.
The USGS said the earthquake struck at 10:34:25 (UTC) at the depth of 16.1 kilometers.

An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 jolted Severo-Kurilsk town in Russia on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The depth of the earthquake was 67.8 Km below the ground.
