Penny Wong said that she is looking forward to meeting her counterparts from Japan, India and the United States at the Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Tokyo.
While addressing a weekly media briefing, Jaiswal said that foreign ministers of four nations will take forward the Quad agenda and take stock of all that has been achieved so far.
“We reaffirm our commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea consistent with UNSCRs, and we urge North Korea to abide by all its obligations under the UNSCRs and engage in substantive dialogue,” read a joint readout issued by the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
"We continued to discuss our responses to the conflict in Ukraine and the immense human suffering it is causing, and concurred that the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible," read Quad leaders joint statement.

Japanese foreign minister also said that long as China abides by international norms and laws then there are no conflicting issues between China and the Quad.

In a move to counter China's increasing assertiveness in the Indo-Pacific region, Quad members (Australia, India, Japan and the US) on Friday committed to supporting Pacific Island countries.
"India is a critical power, great power in the region that there is no reshaping of the Indo-Pacific without India. We've seen that India is a civilisational power that brings a different perspective to some of the challenges of these time," said Wong.
