Justice Yahya Afridi, one of the judges from the seven-member bench hearing the case on the alleged interference of Pakistan intelligence agencies in judicial affairs, recused himself from the suo motu case taken up by the Supreme Court, Geo News reported on Thursday.
The party's core committee urged the immediate intervention of the court in this matter, emphasising the importance of Dr Asim being allowed to conduct Khan's medical check-up.
Notably, at least 10 judges of the Supreme Court including Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, eight judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and five of the Lahore High Court (LHC) have received the suspicious letters.
