The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday ordered private entities and government authorities, provincial and federal, to remove all encroachments made on pavements for security purposes within three days.
Justice Yahya Afridi, one of the judges from the seven-member bench hearing the case on the alleged interference of Pakistan intelligence agencies in judicial affairs, recused himself from the suo motu case taken up by the Supreme Court, Geo News reported on Thursday.
Notably, at least 10 judges of the Supreme Court including Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, eight judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and five of the Lahore High Court (LHC) have received the suspicious letters.
CJP Isa's remark came during the hearing of SC's suo motu notice taken on the letter written by Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges that cites complaints of interference in judicial affairs by intelligence agencies.
