Nepal Prime Minister Pushp Kamal Dahal is likely to visit India on his first foreign trip in late February or early March, Nepal-based media outlet, The Kathmandu Post, reported on Sunday.
China has been trying to get the support of Nepal for its ambitious Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) but the Himalayan country is reluctant to join it as it also seeks support from the US and India which oppose Chinese policies, a Kathmandu-based online magazine Epardafas reported.
As per the arrangement, Dahal will be the Prime Minister for the first half of the five-year Prime Ministerial term with the remaining two and half years going to his alliance partner, the former Nepali Prime Minister, KP Sharma Oli.
