In view of land subsidence in Joshimath, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday gave instructions to set up a big temporary rehabilitation centre in the town.
With the land subsidence continuing at the Joshimath town of Uttarakhand, the district administration has launched relief and rescue operations in the area.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday said that in the wake of the land subsidence at Joshimath in Chamoli district, he would hold a high-level meeting in Dehradun this evening.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday said that the government had already made it clear that it will work in accordance with court orders in the case related to encroachments near Haldwani railway station in the state.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will hold a high-level meeting in Dehradun on Friday evening in the wake of the land subsidence at Joshimath in Chamoli district, sources said.
"We've said earlier also that it is a railway land. We will proceed as per the court's order," said Dhami today reacting to apex court's putting a stay on the High Court's order to remove encroachments from railway land in Haldwani's Banbhoolpura area.
The Uttarakhand government has formed a team of scientists to find out the reason behind the occurrence of land subsidence in Joshimath and the resultant damage reported to the houses.
"I will be visiting Joshimath in the coming days and initiate steps to handle the situation. All the reports will be monitored and all the required steps will be taken. I have had a word with the Municipal Corporation chairman Shailendra Pawar to monitor the condition in the district," sa
