"A furniture godown caught fire. It looks like there could be a loss of Rs 50-60 lakhs. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Fire tenders are at the spot. Efforts to douse the fire are underway," Daljeet Singh, a police officer said.
According to the orders issued by Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik, firecrackers can be lit from 8 to 10 pm on Diwali and from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am on Christmas.
The incident of fire took place late at night on Saturday in the open stubble storage house built by a private company in Kari Kalan village, 25 kilometres away from Firozpur.
As per the reports, no one sustained any sort of injuries during the incident, however, the visuals showed vehicles parked inside the post to be on fire.
