Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Virendraa Sachdeva criticised Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for visiting Gujarat instead of extending support to flood-affected Punjab.
Earlier on Saturday, Harpal Singh Cheema met CM Bhagwant Mann, who has been admitted to a private hospital in Mohali after his health condition worsened a day earlier.
On this occasion, Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Congress General Secretary in-charge Bhupesh Baghel, and Amritsar MP Gurjeet Aujla, along with several senior leaders, were present.
Later, after visiting the flood-affected areas in Firozpur district, Warring cautioned that the situation remains serious while blaming the government and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of "negligence".
Incessant rainfall and swelling rivers have caused devastation in Punjab, leaving several villages submerged and thousands of people struggling for essential supplies.
Addressing a press conference at Punjab Bhawan, he said that incessant rains in Punjab and neighbouring hill states have triggered large-scale devastation, affecting nearly 2,000 villages and over four lakh citizens, while 46 lives have been lost across the state.
As states in North India continue to be affected by flooding due to heavy rainfall, the Indian Air Force conducted relief operations across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday.

Pakistan's Punjab province is bracing for severe flooding, with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issuing a flood alert for the Sutlej and Chenab rivers, as well as hill torrents.
