Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta has called a meeting with the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Public Undertakings for further investigation on Friday over the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports tabled during the recent Budget Session.
According to an order, Ajay Mahawar will head the Committee on Public Accounts, Gajender Drall has been named the Chairperson of the Committee on Government Undertakings, and Harish Khurana will lead the Committee on Estimates.
The visit of the UP Assembly speaker was aimed to foster cooperation and learning between the two state legislatures, as well as discuss modernizing parliamentary procedures, women's empowerment, and public accountability.
Members of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Lok Sabha visited the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza in Gurugram on Thursday to examine its functioning and also visited some works of NHAI.
Speaking to ANI, BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay said, "The kind of gross irregularities that were done in the liquor policy, people's hard-earned money was wasted... These are all subjects on which CAG has given a long report... This entire subject will go to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC)..."
Meanwhile, Vijender Gupta, the Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, decided to send the CAG report on the Excise Policy to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and demanded a final report within three months.
Gupta said that the CAG's 'Performance Audit Report on Regulation and Supply of Liquor in Delhi' has brought out grave irregularities in the implementation of the excise policy in Delhi by the Aam Aadmi Government.
Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav and senior leader Sandeep Dikshit said that the CAG report should be investigated by the Public Accounts Committee. So, PAC should be formed as soon as possible, and those involved in the loot should be punished.
