The PTI lawmakers had resigned from the lower house of the parliament after PTI chief Imran Khan's ouster in April 2022 but the National Assembly Speaker had accepted only 11 of the resignations then.
Khan said that he has no links with the current Pakistan army chief, General Syed Asim Munir and claimed that the general elections will take place in April 2023.
The PTI chairman had announced the dissolution of the assemblies -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab -- in November last year. However, the plans were delayed due to consultations with allies and countermeasures adopted by the ruling allies in the centre.

As directed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Mahmood Khan, has decided to dissolve the provincial assembly on Tuesday, the Geo News reported.
"I hope the serving army chief would ensure transparent general elections. The amount of power that the military has is not possessed by any other institution," the PTI chief said.
