Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting on the implementation of three newly enacted major criminal laws in Tripura.
Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Gajendra Singh Nagar acquitted the accused and said, "This court is of the opinion that the prosecution has failed to prove the allegations against the accused beyond reasonable doubt."
The CBI said that the prosecution sanction had been obtained for all the accused. The court has to take cognisance. Senior advocate D P Singh appeared for the CBI and said that a list of 30 common witnesses is prepared.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) stated that since the CBI recently filed a supplementary chargesheet indicating a higher quantum of money involved than previously probed, the ED may also file a supplementary prosecution complaint soon.
