The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached immovable properties spanning 88.29 acres and valued at Rs 300.11 crore belonging to a private company under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, on Friday.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the General Manager and Project Director, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 Lakhs from employees of a private company for showing undue favour to the said company.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four people in connection with a case involving the demand and acceptance of a bribe of Rs 1.20 lakh in exchange for the payment of outstanding bills from the aforementioned private company, an official release said.
The CBI booked five individuals, including a Jaipur-based private company and its directors and promoters, along with others, over allegations of bank fraud amounting to approximately Rs 48.06 crore.
The CBI laid a trap, and after the delivery of a bribe of Rs 20 lakh to the general & project manager of NHAI by an employee of the said private company, they were apprehended.
According to the central probe agency, one of the accused is the General Manager and Project Director, NHAI, PIU, Nagpur (bribe receiver) and another one Deputy General Manager and Project Director, NHAI Harda (MP) along with two directors, and two employees.
