Setting at rest all speculations around Chinese President Xi Jinping's participation at the G20 Summit in New Delhi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China has announced that Li Qiang will attend the 18th G20 Summit to be held in New Delhi, India on September 9 and 10.
In an exclusive interview to ANI, Lekhi emphasised that India, which represents the Global South, is in the right position to engage in conversation with G20 nations and talk about the needs of the underdeveloped nations which are "very rich in resources."
In the video, India’s G20 Sherpa highlighted the issues India focused on during its presidency of the summit like digital public infrastructure, principles of lifestyle for sustainability, traditional medicine, millets, global biofuel and many more.
With the global economy facing uncertainty and instability in recent years vis-à-vis geopolitical developments, the role of the G20, as a platform connecting the world’s major developed and emerging economies, assumes greater significance in shaping the global trends.
Sharing details regarding the welcome planned for delegates, the hotel manager of The Lalit Hotel said that they will welcome them with Indian traditional folk music.
Amid media reports that some heads of state may skip the G20 Summit in India next week, sources said that many leaders skip global summits for their own reasons from time to time and it is not always possible for every leader to attend every summit
"While in New Delhi, the President will also commend Prime Minister Modi’s leadership of the G20 and reaffirm the US commitment to the G20 as the premier forum of economic cooperation, including by hosting it in 2026," read the White House statement.
