Addressing the media at the GHMC Head Office along with Hyderabad Joint Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, the DEO said that nomination procedures for the bye-election concluded on Friday.
Four Mahagathbandhan candidates, including three from the Congress and one from the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), withdrew their nominations in favour of their ally, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), ahead of polling for the high-stakes Bihar Assembly elections.
The Mahagathbandhan (Grand alliance) in Bihar is fully "united" and "contesting the elections with strength" after the negotiations over the allocation of seat-sharing went down the line with a few days left for the polling for 243 constituencies on November 6 and November 11.
Polling for the Bihar elections 2025 will take place on November 6 and 11, while the bye-elections on eight seats across seven states and Union Territories will be conducted on November 11. The results will be announced on November 14.
The polling for Bodh Gaya is scheduled for November 11, during the second phase of the state elections, with the last date for filing nominations set for Monday.
JD(U) had earlier announced Saba Zafar as their candidate from the Amour seat, where polling will be held in the second phase of the Bihar elections on November 11.
