Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegation that the 2024 Maharashtra assembly election was "rigged" and that the same would happen in Bihar's upcoming polls. He called the claims "nonsense," a "lie," and "an insult to voters.
"I will not comment on someone who has defeated himself. He has made a good record of continuous defeats. Congress party is pouring ghee in an extinguished lamp... This is a desperate statement that cannot see the country's progress," Sharma told ANI.
The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Saturday, alleged that the Maharashtra assembly election held in November 2024 was "rigged", and claimed that the same will be repeated in Bihar assembly polls due later this year.
Bihar elections are expected to be held later this year in October or November, however, no official date has been announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Uttar Pradesh will witness the next Assembly elections in 2027 between the two most prominent parties, i.e., Bharatiya Janata Party and Samajwadi Party. The Congress is likely to contest the polls in alliance with the SP.
