Tamil Nadu Minister K R Periyakaruppan on Tuesday visited the family of Ajith Kumar, who died while in police custody, and handed ex-gratia of Rs 7.5 lakhs on behalf of the state governemt.
Following a protest by TVK party on Sunday demanding justice for Ajith Kumar, who allegedly died in police custody, DMK leader TKS Elangovan said that the case has already been handed over to the CBI and those involved have been arrested.

Meanwhile, the three accused, Manojit Mishra, Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, whom the police have named, have been remanded to police custody till July 1.
