As the voting for the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections began, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called upon all the voters to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise, especially the first-time voters.
Prime Minister said Congress considers terrorism as its vote bank, adding that several other parties indulging in appeasement politics also have arisen.
Amongst the leaders who will participate in this programme includes BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Purushottam Rupala Mansukh Mandaviya amongst others.
Addressing a public rally in the Botad district of Gujarat on Sunday, the PM said it was for voters to shape the destiny of the state in the coming years.
The local residents of Gujarat's Dhoraji have expressed confidence in the BJP forming government in the state once again in the upcoming Assembly polls stating that they do not need any other party as the ruling BJP works for the people.
The women of the district said that the government has paid attention to the safety and security of women. They exuded confidence that the BJP will come back to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.
At another public rally in Gujarat's Mandvi Assembly constituency earlier on Friday, Thakur took a swipe at the Congress saying that it ruled the country to 'divide' people.
