Following incessant rainfall in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, the Badrinath National Highway (NH-7) got blocked after boulders and debris has come on highway near Pipalkotim, said officials.
Major Aaina Rana, the first commanding officer of the 75 Road Construction Company (RCC) at Pipalkoti in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district said that she had seen people in uniform in Pathankot during childhood and it was the primary motivating factor for her to join the armed forces.
Officials on condition of anonymity said that the administration took suggestions from around 1000 affected people over a call and sought an opinion if they want a new house in Pipalkoti or seek a lump-sum amount from the government for their relocation.
Badarinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay said that as per the Geological Survey of India (GSI) report there's no threat to the temple complex at present.
