The Pakistani government announced an increase in the price of petrol by Pakistani currency (PKR) 4.53 per litre and that of high-speed diesel (HSD) by PKR 8.14 per litre for the next fortnight ending April 30.
The petrol price is likely to jack up to Pakistani currency (PKR) 289.69 per litre in the next fortnightly review from the current price of PKR 279.75 per litre, as per the estimates of the oil industry.
The External Affairs Minister said, "When I go out and explain foreign policy I would say Modi ki guarantee works outside as much as it works back home....You know the Modi ki guarantee also applies that we keep petrol prices at a reasonable price by not bowing down to political pressure."
The new price of petrol is now PKR 272.89 per litre from the previous price of PKR 259.34, according to a notification from the Finance Division. The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was increased by PKR 2.75 to PKR 278.96 per litre.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday said petrol will be cheaper by at least Rs 11.80 per litre in Rajasthan if the BJP is elected in the November 25 Assembly elections.
Dar in a late-night press conference said: "There has been no increase in the price of petrol." He, however, added that the diesel price has been increased by Rs 7.50 per litre.
