National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Tuesday hoped for early decision from Supreme Court on petitions challenging abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir
The Supreme Court on Wednesday indicated that it is likely to start hearing petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories in August.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) party MLA Sunil Prabhu on Tuesday approached the Supreme Court seeking a direction to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker to take an expeditious decision on the disqualification petitions pending against rebel Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde.
While talking to ANI over the phone, the bureaucrat said that he has withdrawn his petition challenging the Presidential Order to scrap Article 370 a long time ago.

Various petitions are pending before the top court challenging the validity of the law scrapping Article 370 of the Constitution and special status to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcating the state into two Union Territories.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday seeking the recusal of Chief Justice Aamer Farooq from the bench that is hearing the petitions in connection with the Toshakhana case
The Court also dismissed the bail petitions of Vijay Nair, ex-communication in charge of Aam Aadmi Party, Abhishek Boinpally (Hyderabad Based Businessman), Binoy Babu Binoy, (manager with a liquor company Pernod Ricard) in connection with the same case.
The Division bench of Justice Satish Chander Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad decided to dismiss the petitions. The RBI has opposed the plea, stating that Rs 2000 notes continue to be legal tender.
The Delhi High Court on Monday is scheduled to pass an order on Delhi's Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia at 2:30 pm in Enforcement Directorate (ED) case related to the Delhi Excise Policy matter.
