The Congress on Sunday demanded immediate resignation of Union Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav over the death of 18 people during a stampede at New Delhi railway station on Saturday.
Congress MP Manish Tewari stated that the Railway Minister should take moral responsibility and resign after 18 people were killed at a stampede which broke out at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday evening.
Porters (coolies) who were present during the stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station recount the events of the tragic night, further stating how they helped the passengers to get out of the station. As many as 18 people were killed and 15 others were injured in the fatal incident.
Lashing out at the government, she said that the government was aware of the number of people who would be coming to Delhi for the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela. The government has not learned their lesson even after the stampede that occurred in Mahakumbh, Karat added.
