The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Azad Maidan unit in Mumbai arrested arrested four drug peddlers and seized drugs worth over Rs 1 crore from their possession, officials said on Friday.
The sleuths of Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) along with Gudimalkapur Police, on credible information apprehended three International Drug Peddlers along with five local persons who were in the possession of Narcotic Drugs.
In a significant move to combat the menace of drug trafficking and to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, police have attached the property of a notorious drug peddler worth 7.88 lakh in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama.
In its efforts to eradicate the menace of drug smuggling in the state, Baramulla police has registered 213 cases, arrested 343 drug peddlers, till August this year, according to a press release by the Baramulla Police.
Telangana Police have arrested two ganja peddlers, who were part of an interstate ganja racket, from Hyderabad and seized from them 90 Kg of the contraband, said the police, adding that the accused indulged in transporting ganja from Odisha to Hyderabad by using a courier service.
"54 drug smugglers have been booked under the PIT- NDPS Act and PSA in the Baramulla district. These hard-core drug peddlers were operating in Uri, Pattan, Baramulla, Kreeri and Tangmarg sub-divisions," said Jammu and Kashmir police.
The Telangana Anti-Narcotic Bureau (TSNAB) has arrested a Nigerian national in possession of psychotropic drugs in Hyderabad. The psychotropic drugs—Ecstasy (MD) pills—seized from him are worth around Rs. 10.56 lakhs, said authorities.
The Telangana Anti-Narcotic Bureau (TSNAB) has apprehended six persons in possession of ganja in Hyderabad. Sale proceeds of Rs 12 lakhs, 44 kilogrammes of ganja, and vehicles have been seized from them, officials said.
According to officials, the drug peddler, identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Rather, a resident of Hari Parigam Awantipora, was involved in four cases registered under the NDPS Act and his activities were "incorrigible" and accordingly booked under PIT NDPS Act.
