Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad on Tuesday criticized Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde over his reaction to SP leader and Maharashtra MLA Abu Azmi's remarks on Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, stating that Shinde lacks historical knowledge.
Mahayuti leaders, including BJP, NCP, and Shiv Sena, staged a protest outside the Maharashtra State Assembly against Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi for his remarks about Aurangzeb.
Thirupathy said, "It is an unwanted meeting. He is trying to hide the failure of his government in the last four years--the deteriorating law and order, violence against women."
The case has been registered against Azmi at Wagle Estate Police Station under BNS sections 299, 302, 356(1), and 356(2) following the complaint from Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske.

The Congress on Monday accused the BJP of manipulating voter lists in connivance with the Election Commission and said the party will seek remedy to the issue through legal, political and other means.

Reddy, MP from Bhuvanagiri, stated that there are serious allegations and suspicions regarding the involvement of some key Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party leaders who had been in Dubai on the same dates.
Refuting the claims that Aurangzeb was against Hindus, Azmi stated that the emperor had 34 per cent of Hindus in his administration and his advisors were Hindus. Therefore, he added, there was no need to give a Hindu-Muslim angle.
