Speaking to ANI here, Naqvi said, "Unlike other parties where party presidents are born within the family, the BJP is a party where a grassroots worker can rise to the top."
"Traditionally, the BJP is a cadre-based party and the largest political party in the world. Tomorrow, the party president will be elected by the cadre. We, along with our cadre from all over the country, believe that elections should be held unanimously," Reddy said.
According to the official notification issued by the party's national returning officer and Rajya Sabha MP K Laxman, the electoral rolls of the party will be published at 12 noon and the enrolment process for the candidates will start on January 19.
Without revealing many details, the Home Minister said, "The Chief Minister and the party president have spoken about it. How would we know what exactly they discussed? It doesn't seem like they had any detailed discussion there; they may have just exchanged pleasantries."
The meeting held at the BJP headquarters here is part of the party's ongoing organisational exercise to initiate and streamline the process for electing its next national president.
