India organises capacity-building programmes for officials from various countries including Bangladesh, Maldives, Myanmar, Gambia, Other African countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Tunisia and Seychelles), and Cambodia.
Around 14.8 lakh accounts under Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Scheme have been opened with total deposits of Rs 8,630 crore so far, said Union Minister for State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

Minister of State (MoS) Finance Bhagwat Karad informed Parliament that banks in India have recovered non-performing assets worth Rs 10.16 lakh crore on an aggregate basis in the past nine years.
On May 19, the RBI decided to withdraw the Rs 2000 denomination banknotes from circulation but said it would continue to remain as legal tender. However, RBI has advised banks to stop issuing such banknotes with immediate effect.
Acknowledging that she has received complaints of merciless loan collections by some banks, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed Parliament on Monday that instructions were given to banks, asking them to deal with sensitivity.
