Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday, condemned the remarks by former Union Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram on three new criminal laws.
This comes after Prime Minister Modi, during the recent Parliament session, said that BJP's strength in Upper House was low in 2014 and then Rajya Sabha Chairman had "inclinations" towards the Opposition.
He was referring to Rahul Gandhi, who came under fire from the leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party over his alleged anti-Hindu remarks made in the Lok Sabha.
During the demonstration, the Bajrang Dal members raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi over his comments on the Hindu community. Following this, several protesters were detained by the Gujarat Police.

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Mookerjee. The minister said every Indian is indebted to Mookerjee for "his unique efforts for the integrity of the country."
