BJP MLA Basanagouda R Patil on Friday said that he has urged Home Minister Dr Parameshwara to hand over the honeytrap case to Central Bureau of Investigation to ensure a "fair and impartial" investigation.
Speaking to ANI, Rajendra said that what initially seemed like a routine phone or video call escalated over time, prompting him to raise the issue in the Assembly.
During the budget session discussion, Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal raised the issue, saying that an attempt had been made to trap the Cooperation Minister in the state.
Home Minister G Parameshwara on Sunday flagged off the 'Stay Fit Karnataka' run, organised by the Karnataka Police, aimed at promoting health among policemen while also raising awareness about drug abuse and cybercrime.
Following the alleged Hampi rape incident in which two women, including an Israeli national, were allegedly raped by three men, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that the government was taking the incident very seriously and many people have already been arrested.

The government is currently evaluating two potential sites: Bidadi and Tumakuru. While Parameshwara mentioned that Tumakuru is the preferred location, he clarified that both sites have their advantages.
