"We had 42 votes and our candidates got 47. We got an additional five votes. Five MLAs supported us, I thank them. When there are elections, allegations are made but I do not think about it...Mahayuti should get such success in the Vidhan Sabha as well...," Pawar said speaking to reporter
The voting for the Maharashtra Legislative Council Elections is underway at Vidhan Sabha for the 11 seats of the Council and will go on till 4 pm on Friday.
"I am confident that we will cross the 400 seats mark. When PM Modi has given the slogan of '400 Paar', I think we will be able to cross it. People of the country are going to cast their votes wisely," Pankaja Munde told the media on Monday.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Secretary Pankaja Munde expressed her concern over the lathi-charge in Jalna where protesters were demanding reservation for the Maratha community, and said that a fair investigation should be done at the government level.
"I condemn this incident. Protestors who were lathi-charged must be heard. Just like any MP or MLA is heard and is given due importance, if any citizen or protester says that he has not done anything wrong it should be given importance and a fair investigation should take place," Munde said.
To a specific question on 'love jihad' during the press conference, the senior BJP leader said it has never been an agenda for the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
