In a major breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another Popular Front of India (PFI) member who was wanted in the gruesome murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Srinivasan in Kerala's Palakkad district in April last year.
"On the basis of profiling done by the officers of Customs AIU batch, a passenger identified as MK Hakkeem a native of Palakkad district was coming from Doha to Kochi by flight IX476 was intercepted at the green channel," a customs official said.
The incident occurred around 5 pm in the forest between newly established camp Dabbakonta and Pentapad under Chintagufa police station of the district. The head constable was identified as Suleman, a resident of Palakkad district, Kerala.
The National Investigation Agency arrested former state secretary of PFI CA Raoof last night from his house in Palakkad district. He was absconding after the Central Government banned PFI.
