"On the intermittent night of May 27-28, Border Security Force (BSF) troop shot down a drone (Quadcopter, DJI Matrice RTK 300) near Village Dhanoe Khurd, district Amritsar. Troops apprehended a smuggler," BSF DIG Sanjay Gaur, Amritsar said on Sunday.
Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted and brought down a Pakistani drone that violated Indian airspace in Punjab's Amritsar sector, informed the officials on Sunday.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Sunday late night recovered 2.5 kg of heroin dropped by a Pakistani drone, which had entered into the Indian territory near Setha Wala village in Punjab's Ferozepur district.
"A drone entering from the Pakistan side has been intercepted (by fire) by alert BSF troops in Gurdaspur Sector. On being fired, the drone returned back to Pak. Search operation underway," BSF Punjab Frontier tweeted.
"A rogue drone entering from the Pak side was intercepted with firing by alert BSF troops in Amritsar Sector. On being fired, the drone returned back to Pak side", BSF said in a statement.
"A drone was forced to return to Pakistan after BSF troops deployed at the India-Pakistan international in Sambha District fired towards a blinking light of a flying object observed," BSF said in a statement.
The Border Security Force (BSF) shot down another Pakistani drone in Punjab soon after it entered into Indian territory carrying a consignment of contraband items, the paramilitary force said on Tuesday.
In a statement, BSF said, "On Friday at about 02:28 am, BSF troops deployed along the Indo-Pakistan border in the area of Metla in the Gurdaspur sector of Punjab detected a drone infiltrating into Indian territory from Pakistan side, and subsequently fired upon the rogue drone."
The hexacopter drone was shot down and recovered alongwith contraband items by the alert BSF troops at about 12.55 am from the area near Metla village in the Gurdaspur district.
The Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a Pakistani drone in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday near the International Border in Rajasthan's Sriganganagar sector, and seized six kilogrammes of narcotics.
