Another batch of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims left from Pantha Chowk Yatra base camp in Srinagar under heightened security measures. The Yatris were singing devotional songs and hymns.
The Anantnag Police came to the aid of a group of Amarnath yatris who were struggling to continue their journey due to high altitudes on Monday. The Police personnel carried the ailing yatris on their shoulders, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Meanwhile, a van carrying Amarnath pilgrims met with an accident near Chandanwari in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, leaving at least two persons injured, officials said on Sunday.
To ensure the best health facilities for the Shri Amarnath Yatris, LG Manoj Sinha also interacted with the team of Doctors at the Nunwan base camp, Pahalgam.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2024) is scheduled to begin on June 29 from the twin routes of Baltal in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district and Pahalgam in south Kashmir.
As the temperature dips to 1.8 degree in Srinagar, a thick wave of fog grappled the city.
While in some areas, the temperature was recorded in minus. The temperature dipped to -0.4 degrees in Gulmarg and -0.26 degree in Pahalgam, as per the Indian Meteorological department.
‘Chhari Mubarak’ popularly known as the holy mace of Lord Shiva has left for Sheshnaag on Tuesday morning from Chandanwari in Pahalgam to mark the culmination of the Amarnath Yatra.
"The 62-day-long Amarnath yatra will remain temporarily suspended from August 23 in view of reduced pilgrim flow and track and restoration works," DIPR authorities said in a statement.
"Some individuals have uploaded a #misleading and #baseless “stone pelting on yatris” video on social media and tried to malign the image of JKP. In this regard cognizance has been taken and an FIR no 54/2023 stands registered in PS Pahalgam," the Kashmir Zone police tweeted o
