The BSF recovered a drone carrying three packets of suspected heroin in the border area of Ferozepur district on Saturday, the BSF said in a press release.
"On April 20, 2024, the BSF intelligence wing received information regarding the presence of a narcotics consignment in the border area of district Fazilka. Acting swiftly, BSF troops carried out an extensive search operation in the suspected area," said the release.
A total of 500 SIM cards were found in that package, kept in three separate packets. After a preliminary inquiry, a case U/s 420 IPC, PS IGI Airport, Delhi, was registered on the complaint and an investigation of the case was taken up, as per DCP.
The BSF further said, "Two packets wrapped with yellow adhesive tape containing suspected heroin (gross weight - approximately 3.380 Kgs) and one packet wrapped with white polythene sheet containing 01 Pistol with 02 magazines."
