Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the England squad for the fifth and final Test against India due to an injury, with Ollie Pope set to lead the side in his absence. Stokes also said he gave himself every chance to play just as a batter in the final Test.
Players who were seen during the practice session were middle-order batter Jacob Bethell, right-hand batter Harry Brook, and right-arm seamer Josh Tongue.
Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel expressed his thoughts on seasoned opener KL Rahul's consistency and his record at The Oval where the fifth and final Test of the series will be played against England from July 31 to August 4.
"KL Rahul and Jaiswal have provided solid starts throughout the series, so there's no reason to alter that combination. I believe Dhruv Jurel will be the designated wicketkeeper. The only question is, at what number will he bat? But I'm certain we'll see him in the playing XI," he added.
