Japan's Centrist Reform Alliance won just 49 seats in the lower house election, the lowest for a main opposition party in the postwar era. The Liberal Democratic Party retained a dominant majority, continuing a pattern seen in previous elections, according to Kyodo News.
According to official results, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) emerged as the largest NDA constituent in terms of President posts, securing 10 positions, followed by the Shiv Sena with four President posts, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won three.
