Amit Lath, also the director of the Europe-India Chamber of Commerce, Central-East Europe chapter, played a leading and outstanding role in the government's Operation Ganga mission to rescue Indians stuck in Ukraine and helped them get back home safely via Poland.
Under 'Operation Ganga' an evacuation mission to bring back all the Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine was carried out due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Around 20,000 Indians including students were stuck in Ukraine.
In the Foreign office consultations, India and Romania talked about regional and global issues, including developments in the Indo-Pacific, Quad, India's neighbourhood and European Union.
