The GST Council in its 51st meeting held Wednesday decided it complete the process of making amendments in the relevant Acts needed for taxation on online gaming, casinos, and horse racing at the earliest and start taxing these items effective from October 1, 2023
A meeting of the GST Council is set to be held on Wednesday via videoconferencing, where the members will discuss and take a final call on the proposal to levy 28 per cent GST on online gaming, casinos and horse racing, finance ministry officials told ANI.
Nirmala Sitharaman who chairs the GST Council, said that the government has offered an exemption on GST for satellite launch services provided by private organisations.
