The Delhi government on Monday issued a public notice saying carrying passengers on two-wheelers would be a punishable offence in Delhi and that bike-taxi is a violation of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The police further said that after the matter was reported to the police, a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered.
According to police officials, the accused, identified as Aftab Ahmad, was previously involved in arms smuggling, robbery and other offences in Rohini and Outer North Delhi.
