The Odisha Assembly on Friday witnessed chaotic scenes as legislators from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Congress staged separate protests over key issues concerning the state.
BJD MLAs staged a protest inside the Odisha Assembly premises against the BJP government's restructuring of Mission Shakti groups. MLA Arun Kumar Sahoo accused the government of disregarding the demands of Jeevika Mission and Mission Shakti workers.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with state assembly speaker Surama Padhy, on Thursday paid floral tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 128th birth anniversary and observed 'Parakram Diwas' at the Odisha Assembly premises in Bhubaneswar.
"The security arrangements have been made for the Assembly sessions. 300 officers and 30 platoons have been deployed for the safety and security. Arrangements have been made for traffic and parking as well..." the DGP said while speaking to the media.
Padhy said that there was a separate stall for each district attracting people from all over the country which would help in the economic development of Odisha.
The second session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence on November 26 and before that an 'all-party meeting' will be conducted on November 25, said Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy.
