A tragic incident was reported at Bongulur Gate village in Rangareddy district of Telangana in which at least four people were killed on the spot after a collision between a car and a lorry. The incident occurred this morning at approximately 3 AM.
"The incident that occurred today in the premises of the Vidhan Bhavan is very unfortunate. I have ordered a thorough investigation and requested a report. Once the report is received, I will announce further action on this matter in the Assembly," said Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar.
"So far, 109 people have lost their lives, out of which 64 deaths were caused directly due to rain-induced disasters like flash floods and landslides. The remaining fatalities occurred mainly due to road accidents during the same monsoon period," Negi told ANI.
The incident occurred in Ward No. 1 of Koni locality, under the jurisdiction of the Sohagpur police station. A rescue operation is currently underway, he added.
