The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has received approval for derivatives on the Nifty Next 50 index from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and will launch these contracts from April 24, 2024.
The bull run continues in the Indian stock market on Wednesday's session. The Nifty touched new high of 22,775.70 breaking the previous record of 22,768 points. The Nifty closed at 22753.80 points while the BSE Sensex ended 0.47% higher at 75,038.15.
The National Stock Exchange's (NSE) Nifty 50 started the day down by 34.35 points or 0.15 per cent at 22,371.25, while the Bombay Stock Exchange's (BSE) Sensex dropped 104.87 points or 0.14 per cent to 73,767.42 in the opening trade.
Indian stock indices traded in the red for the second straight session, after snapping a six-session winning streak in the previous session. The latest decline could be attributed to profit booking and concerns among investors over high stock valuations.
The BSE Sensex soared by 454.67 points or 0.63 per cent to reach 72,186.09, while the NSE Nifty ended the day at 21,939.15, up by 167.45 points or 0.77 per cent. .

Indian stock indices started off Monday session in the green after a truncated trading week. Benchmark Sensex and Nifty were 0.6 per cent higher each at 71,107.46 (up 407 points) and Nifty 21,475.90 (up 123 points), respectively, at the opening bell.
The NSE Nifty 50 managed to rise 10.50 points (0.21 per cent) to settle at 21,741.90, while the BSE Sensex recorded a marginal gain of 31.68 points (0.04 per cent) to reach 72,271.94.
