Assam Rifles, in a daring operation at a little past midnight, rescued six civilians who were held captive by the National Socialist Council of Nagalim Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) for ransom in Dimapur, said Assam Rifles in a press release.
"Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police launched a joint operation and apprehended an OGW of NSCN K-YA and recovered a pistol along with 17 rounds of ammunition from the individual at Rusa village in Longding District, Arunachal Pradesh on April 22", the press statement said.
Assam Rifles, in a successful counter-insurgency operation, apprehended an active insurgent of northeast India's separatist group National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) K(YA) in the Longkhao village of Arunachal Pradesh's Longding.
"Assam Rifles in an operation apprehended two active OGWs of NSCN K(YA) in Khanu village, Tirap District, Arunachal Pradesh on April 16," the press release said.
"Based on confirmed input regarding the movement of active cadres of NSCN (IM) astride Mokokchung - Mariani Road, threatening local civilians were carrying out extortion activities, an operation was launched and Mobile Vehicle Check Post was established to apprehend these cadres," it added.
In a joint operation, Assam Rifles and police apprehended two militants of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K(YA) and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district.
The agency named Nsarangbe alias Pela alias Pela Nsa Zeme, his wife and others in the money laundering case involving a well-organized extortion racket run by the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland - Isak Muivah faction or the (NSCN-IM.)
A Delhi Court on Friday took Cognizance of a Prosecution Complaint (Chargesheet) filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Alemla Jamir and others, leader of Naga insurgent group NSCN-IM in connection with a money-laundering investigation linked to charges of alleged extortion.
