Tripura Police have made extensive security arrangements in Agartala ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit there on Saturday to chair the plenary session of the North Eastern Council (NEC).
The north Indian hill town, Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, has been abuzz with activity as Northern Railway introduced a holiday special train to cater to the increasing number of tourists flocking to the hill station during the Christmas and New Year season.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Tripura on Saturday where he will engage in a series of significant events, including a visit to the Bru settlement areas and participation in the 72nd plenary session of the North East Council (NEC).
Amit Shah commends Sashastra Seema Bal on its 61st Raising Day, praising its efforts in securing India's borders, curbing Naxalism, and contributing to development. Shah highlights the SSB's role in Northeast security and relations with Nepal.
"Eminent scholars from North and South India are present at the event, where the Vishnu Yagna is being conducted for the purification of the Panch Bhutas and the enhancement of the nation," Ramanujacharya added.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded as 7 degrees Celsius, as per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Additionally, as per IMD, smog and dense fog conditions are likely to intensify due to the predominant surface winds from the north wind direction.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday announced that the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has sanctioned Rs 202 crore for infrastructure development of the Agartala Government Dental College and informed that the government plans to create additional posts
