Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal termed the Union Budget 2024 as extremely discriminatory and announced that the Indian National Congress (INC) Chief Ministers would be boycotting the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for July 27.
The Chief Minister demanded that on the lines of Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern states having similar geographical and social conditions, Uttarakhand should also be given the benefit of the industrial promotion policy for the next five years.
"While raising the state issue CM Sukhu the Centre urged not to reduce the previous year's deposit of Rs 1,779 crore under NPS to the borrowing ceiling of the current financial year which is 2023-24 and also to review the decision taken on March 27, 2023," the release said.
