Days after his son earned a fresh ticket to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, state minister and Nishad Party national president Sanjay Nishad called on BJP national president JP Nadda at his residence in the national capital on Wednesday.
Notably, the BJP has fielded party leader Praveen Kumar Nishad (son of Sanjay Nishad) from the Sant Kabir Nagar seat in Uttar Pradesh. Currently, he is also an MP from this seat.
"Today this yatra is being taken out so that we can get the Scheduled Caste status soon. Till 1951, we were recognised as a Scheduled Tribe. We were put in the backward class group and betrayed," the Minister said while speaking to reporters.
