Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday underlined that in order to address the mounting debt crisis around the world, it is necessary to supplement current global initiatives, especially those of the G20.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday participated in the roundtable on 'Multilateral Development Bank Evolution: Building Shareholder Consensus' hosted by the US Department of Treasury Secretary at World Bank headquarters.
During the roundtable, FM Sitharaman underlined the reality of a global acknowledgement of "New India" and the renewed role India is poised to play in the global economic order, besides India as an investment destination going forward into "Amrit Kaal."

She was given presentations about various activities at NASA Goddard by Dr Makenzie Lystrup, Director of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Ray Rubilotta, Associate Center Director at NASA Goddard and Dr Michelle Thaller, Astrophysicist.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday claimed that Muslims in India are doing much better than those in Pakistan, in a strong rebuttal of negative 'Western perception' of India.
"Free Trade Agreements are being signed in a much faster way nowadays. We've just concluded one with Australia. Earlier we concluded with UAE, Mauritius and with ASEAN. We have extended quota-free & tariff-free regime to Least Developed Countries," she said.
Posen also questioned Sitharaman that there is widespread reporting in the Western press about MPs in the opposition party losing status, and about Muslim minorities in India being subjected to violence.
The Union Finance Minister will be attending meetings with Finance Ministers and Central Bankers from across the world. The meeting is scheduled to take place today at IMF Headquarters in Washington.
During her stay, Sitharaman will be attending the 2023 Spring Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), along with G20 meetings, Investor/ Bilateral meetings, and other associated meetings.
