"I think it's a fact that Israel allowed an Indian company to acquire one of the two ports Israel has. It's a testimony that we trust the Indian business people. We trust the Indian government," Nir Barkat said in an interview with ANI.
Nir Barkat said both the governments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli PM Netanyahu are "friendly." He said that India and Israel should focus on business growth.
Barkat was speaking at the India Israel Business Forum organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry in Delhi. He is leading a delegation of Israeli businessmen for a series of meetings with leaders in India's business and government sectors.
Nir Barkat said that FTA between Israel and India will be discussed with the Indian ministers today.Pointing that India is on track to become the world's third-largest economy, the minister said that the FTA should be in various sectors, including agro-tech and health tech.
