Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Chief Minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy, said on Sunday that he 'will decide in two days' whether to contest Lok Sabha elections.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, JD(S) Youth Wing President Nikhil Kumaraswamy expressed that in Karnataka the motive was to gift PM Modi, 28 out of 28 seats victory from BJP-JD(S) alliance. He said that his party is asking only for Mandya, Hassan and Kolar seats.
"As we all know JDS and BJP are now a part of the NDA alliance. On that basis, Mr Yediyurappa is one of the tallest leaders in Karnataka. So I just came here to take his blessings personally. We all know that they share a good bond," Nikhil Kumaraswamy said after the meeting.
Nikhil lost to Congress candidate HA Iqbal Hussain by 10,715 votes while the BJP candidate Gautham Gowda secured 12,912 votes, as per the Election Commission of India.
As per the latest trends by the Election Commission at 2.15 pm, Nikhil Kumaraswamy got 76975 votes against Congress' HA Iqbal Hussain who secured 87690 with 47.98 per cent vote share so far.
Former Prime Minister HD Dewegowda's grandson Nikhil Kumaraswamy on Monday filed his nomination as a candidate of Janata Dal-Secular for the May 10 Assembly polls and expressed confidence that the party will be voted to power in Karnataka.
