US President Joe Biden on Saturday held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and affirmed full support for Israel's right to self-defence, amid the 'surprise attack' by Hamas.
In a strongly worded response to the Hamas rocket attack in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that the country's focus is on restoring security and to exact an "immense price from the enemy".
At least seven Nepali students studying at an Israel University have sustained injuries and are held captive by Hamas forces, Nepal's Ambassador to Israel confirmed.
Israel has issued a call to its citizens, urging them to exercise vigilance and not to disseminate rumours on social media platforms like WhatsApp after Hamas launched a " surprise attack".

Five people have suffered injuries, leaving one in a critical situation after the Palestinian attackers in the Gaza Strip launched rocket barrages at southern and central Israel on Saturday morning, setting off air raid sirens in the country, reported The Times of Israel.

The trip, which the State Department has yet to confirm, is to take place during the third week of October and include a visit to Ramallah in the Palestinian Authority.
