The search and rescue operations to locate five other workers who were trapped inside the inundated rat-hole coal mine at 3 Kilo Umrangso area in Assam's Dima Hasao district entered into 8th day on Monday.

A heavy-duty pump from Coal India, with a capacity of 500 GPM (Gallons Per Minute), has been brought in. An NDRF official mentioned that multiple pumps would be installed to drain the water from the mine.
